Modular Type Experiment
Working with three to five pieces, I developed a modular typeface mainly based on hollow circles and rectangles. While difficult to achieve, the parts could be broken down and arranged to fit the readable standard for letterforms. Since the parts are not entirely solid, there was room for negative space to fill in gaps in readability.
This somewhat whimsical and playful design can be stacked and arranged to create a spread of text that can not only be read, but can also act as an appealing visual structure on its own.
